Biography

Filippo Bonaccorsi is a civil litigation lawyer and manager with considerable experience in public bodies, private companies and in companies with local authority stakeholdings.

After the years of training in the legal and corporate offices of the Caltagirone group, he went on to specialize in the sector of mobility and public works. As chairman and chief executive of ATAF Spa, Florence’s public transport operator, he oversaw the transformation of the sector, conceiving and carrying through the first full privatisation of a public transport company in Italy.

He has held various senior positions in public bodies at both a local and a national level. In 2013, he was Head of Infrastructures for the Florence City Council, responsible for preparing the city for the world cycling championships and contributing to the reform of the City’s joint-stock companies.

At the Presidency of the Italian Cabinet, he was responsible for coordinating the redevelopment and upgrading of school buildings, creating a national plan and guaranteeing the opening of more than 150 new schools.

In recent years, after holding the post of Ferrovie dello Stato Group’s Head of Institutional Relations with Regional and Local Authorities, he became head of Corporate, Civil and Administrative Law Affairs for all of the companies in which Rete Ferroviaria Italiana SpA holds a stake.
