Renato Mazzoncini

Born in Brescia on 13 January 1968, Mazzoncini has held executive positions in private, public and semi-public companies in the public services and utiilities sector since 1997. CEO and Managing Director of the Ferrovie dello Stato Group until 2018. CEO and Managing Director of A2A Spa since 2020 and member of the General Council of Confindustria Nazionale since 2021. Mazzoncini teaches the master’s degree course on "Mobility: Infrastructures and Services" and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Polytechnic of Milan, where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1992. An expert on climate change, the environment, the green economy, energy transitions and mobility, Mazzoncini has co-authored books and articles on energy transformation, smart and green cities, and environmental strategies for a zero-emission future.
