Action

  • In 2023, the involvement of key stakeholders in the main territories was strengthened: 11 multistakeholder forums were held in A2A's 6 “historical locations” (Bergamo, Valtellina-Valchiavenna, Brescia, Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Milan, and Piedmont) and in 5 “new” areas such as Calabria, Monza-Brianza, Puglia, Sicily, and South Lombardy.
  • Through the cooperative use of a digital platform to track relationships and initiatives in order to optimize engagement strategies, in 2023 the stakeholder mapping process involved a growing number of corporate structures (more than 20) led by Engagement Ambassadors (the contacts for each A2A Business Unit).
  • In 2023, A2A joined Fondazione Sodalitas, which is committed to affirming and earning recognition for the company's leadership in achieving sustainable development and building partnerships for community growth with member companies, thereby generating social value and contributing to a future of inclusion and development.
  • As part of its partnerships with universities and research institutes, A2A and the University of Brescia signed a multi-year agreement for innovation, research and training initiatives in the Energy & Utility sector. This partnership, in parallel with a collaboration previously started with the Milan Polytechnic, will allow the Group and the universities to consolidate synergies and jointly develop innovative solutions to support the country's ecological transition.
  • In 2023 A2A supported research conducted by AICA (International Association for Environmental Communication) and the University of Milan - Department of Environmental Science and Policy on the presence of microplastics in mountain lakes in Lombardy and Trentino.
  • In January 2023, an initiative to further develop iL@b, a program that began back in 2020, was put in place to establish a fully-fledged network of other talent incubators at the Group's facilities.
  • In 2023, the Energy Bank's mission was consolidated through the implementation of numerous new projects across the country and the promotion of the Manifesto “Together to Combat Energy Poverty,” which was joined by new stakeholders, reaching more than 70 signatories. In 2023, the Energy Bank also obtained the patronage of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security. 2023 was also the year that saw the development of projects regarding Energy Communities. In November, in fact, the Renewable and Supportive Energy Community “Le Vele” promoted by the Leonarda Vaccari Institute in Rome in collaboration with Edison, was inaugurated, and the  Renewable and Supportive Energy Community “La Rotonda” in Baranzate (MI), in collaboration with Next Energy Foundation and AEM Foundation, was started.
