Milan, 18 April 2019 - A2A is accelerating its growth path in the green energy sector, looking at renewable distributed energy resources (DERs) and the development of energy efficiency services for its customers. To that end, an agreement has been signed for the company to join the SunCity Group.
Through the subsidiary A2A Energy Solutions, SunCity Energy Srl was acquired. The latter focuses on energy aggregation and distribution from 100% Italian renewable resources, and a staged plan was launched to become part of the capital of the SunCity Group, an Energy Service Company (ESCo) specialising in providing energy efficiency services and distributed generation to small or medium-sized enterprises, through its network of installers and innovative digital platforms.
The know-how developed by SunCity, a leader in the implementation and asset management of photovoltaic systems for end customers, will enrich A2A's offer for Italian SMEs. This know-how enables an integrated approach to distributed generation, IoT systems and energy efficiency solutions, engineered for optimal management through the use of proprietary digital platforms. A widespread network of installer partners throughout the country helps to ensure timely customer service.
This operation is fully in line with A2A's new 2019-2023 Strategic Plan, which sets out goals for strong growth in renewable energy and energy efficiency, in line with European targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This comes alongside commercial development with regard to end customers, with the company constantly innovating formulas and offering a wide range of customised services.
