We, at A2A, are a life company because we put life at the center of everything we do.
We put ourselves at the service of our communities, institutions and customers throughout the country, providing services that are part of everyone's daily life and which, thanks to our technologies and infrastructure, can make a concrete contribution to a sustainable future for new generations.
For them, we promote the vision of a cleaner world that respects the environment, territories and people. A change of perspective towards a true culture of sustainability, where the potential of each resource can be regenerated.
This is our contribution to the fight against climate change, pollution and waste.
Environment
We protect the environment by converting waste and scrap into new resources in the form of materials or energy, which reduces waste.
Smart infrastructure
We distribute electricity and gas, drinking water and district heating. We provide lighting, connect and design cities and businesses with smart and digital infrastructures.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do: working towards ecological transition
We have chosen to place ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals at the heart of our activities and investments to build infrastructures that support people and businesses in their energy transition and in the application of virtuous circular economy models.
Our sustainability policy is inspired by 11 of the 17 goals of the UN's 2030 Agenda, to which we are making a concrete contribution: more than 70% of the projects planned up to 2030 have already been approved or are being developed, while 78% of the investments are eligible under the EU Taxonomy Regulation.

Investing to accelerate the country's ecological transition
Circular economy
We will build new material and energy recovery plants, diverting millions of tonnes of waste from landfills. We will develop innovative district heating networks, recovering waste heat that would otherwise be dispersed in the atmosphere. We will also invest in reducing water loss.
Energy transition
Our goal is to reduce the Group's overall emission factor by 65% (compared to 2017). We will therefore continue to develop clean energy production, accelerate decarbonization and facilitate the electrification of consumption by ensuring that grids have the performance, flexibility and resilience that are needed for a secure and stable electricity system.
